EH216-S makes a pilotless flight carrying passengers in Astana, Kazakhstan, at the Games of the Future

EHangEH216-S

EHang says its EH216-S flew with people on board over the venue of the Games of the Future 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan, the first pilotless human-carrying eVTOL flight in Central Asia by its account. Kazakhstan's transport minister was among those aboard. The first phase planned by the government is short demonstration and tourist flights, with no date for regular service.

  • Passengers included Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, Nurlan Sauranbayev; officials from the presidential office, the transport ministry and the aviation administration watched.
  • The flight came about two months after Kazakhstan set up its first national framework for eVTOL aircraft, vertiports and unmanned traffic management in June 2026.
  • Phase one, per the transport ministry: demonstration and tourist flights of 5 to 30 minutes over national landmarks.
  • EHang and Allur Group, a Kazakh automaker, plan to develop Central Asian air-mobility markets under a 2025 memorandum of understanding.
  • EHang's own claims, not independently verified: the EH216-S has flown in 23 countries on five continents.
