The Civil Aviation Administration of China issued a type certificate for EHang's EH216-S pilotless passenger drone on October 13, 2023, confirming its design meets CAAC airworthiness standards. It was the world's first type certificate for an unmanned passenger eVTOL, enabling paid passenger flights.
