Destinus speeds up Ruta Block 3, a 2,000 km strike drone with Rheinmetall, aiming for flight tests in 2027

Destinus announced an accelerated start to Ruta Block 3, a 2,000 km-class strike drone with a 250 kg-class warhead and a new T220 jet engine, developed with Rheinmetall. Block 1 is in serial production in the Netherlands and Block 2 is in flight testing in Ukraine.

• Block 3: 2,000 km class, 250 kg-class warhead, new T220 turbojet still being designed.
• Flight tests planned to start in 2027; launched from standard shipping containers on land, ships or fixed sites.
• Rheinmetall's Unterluss plant to build Block 1 and 2 in 2026-2027, with first missiles targeted before the end of 2026.
