Chunghwa Telecom approves up to $115M for an Astranis satellite dedicated to Taiwan
Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom board approved up to $115 million for a MicroGEO satellite covering Taiwan, the island's first dedicated telecom satellite. It is meant as backup for mobile networks and undersea cables, plus maritime and government use.

- Launch was then planned for 2025, with service in 2026; it now rides Block 3.
