Carbon Robotics launches its Large Plant Model, an AI model that detects and identifies plants for its machines
Carbon Robotics released its Large Plant Model, trained on over 150 million plant images from more than 100 farms across 15 countries. Farmers can now tap a photo on the robot's screen to mark a plant to kill or protect; the system adapts in minutes instead of requiring 24 hours of new labeling and retraining.
- Model trained on 150+ million labeled plant images across diverse soil types, climates and growth stages.
- Farmer selects 2–3 images to create a Plant Profile; the system immediately adapts its weeding behavior, eliminating the previous 24-hour retraining cycle.
- Deployed as a software update to the LaserWeeder and Carbon ATK autonomous tractor systems.
