BYD reveals the Atto 8 seven-seat electric SUV in Paris, rated up to 405 miles

BYD revealed the Atto 8, a flagship seven-seat electric SUV, at the Paris Motor Show, with European dealer sales planned from the first quarter of 2027. It uses a 115 kWh second-generation Blade battery and BYD's Flash Charging, which takes about nine minutes to go from 10% to 97%. Prices have not been announced.

• The rear-wheel-drive Design model is rated up to 405 miles (600+ km) WLTP, with 456 hp and 0–62 mph in 8 seconds.
• The all-wheel-drive Excellence has 764 hp, a 374-mile rating and 0–62 mph in 4.6 seconds.
• Flash Charging takes about 5 minutes for 10% to 80%; at -30°C, 20% to 97% takes about 12 minutes.
• One estimate puts the UK on-the-road price at roughly £47,995, but BYD has not confirmed it.
