In ACHIEVE-1, Lilly's daily GLP-1 pill orforglipron lowered A1C by 1.3 to 1.6 points over 40 weeks in 559 adults with type 2 diabetes starting near 8% baseline. The drug worked without food restrictions and showed safety matching injectable GLP-1 agents, with 76% of patients reaching the ADA target A1C of <7%.
