Sulfide electrolyte manufacturing complexitySulfide compounds are reactive with moisture and air, requiring anhydrous processing. This manufacturing constraint limits facility throughput and increases capital costs for scaled production.
Material property limits of silverSilver reactivity and mobility impose thermal and chemical limits. Preventing migration and dissolution during cycling requires careful chemistry.

Silver-carbon anode

Thin composite layer suppresses dendrites

A 5-micrometer layer eliminates bulk anode need. Silver forces lithium plating evenly, preventing dendrite whiskers.

Sulfide electrolyte

Solid ionic conductor

Sulfide conducts lithium ions while remaining insulating. Non-flammable, higher voltage than liquid, enabling denser designs.

Higher energy density and longer life

Solid architecture eliminates liquid decomposition and blocks filaments. Cells achieve 900+ Wh/L and 1,000+ cycles with minimal loss.
