Technical approach
Converting assets to tokens
Securitize tokenizes securities, funds and bonds by issuing them as ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum. Each token represents a fractional share of the underlying asset.
Regulatory compliance built in
All issuances and transfers are KYC/AML vetted and comply with US securities law. The platform acts as a registered transfer agent, managing holder records.
Minute-level settlement on-chain
Trades settle instantly on-chain via smart contracts, vs. T+2 in traditional markets. Yield is distributed daily to holders via token rebases.
Backing assets are held off-chain
The actual cash, bonds or fund shares are held by custodians (e.g. banks). Securitize's smart contracts track and reconcile ownership on-chain.
