Technical approach
Read muscles through the skin
Electrodes in the socket pick up the electrical activity of muscles left in the arm and turn it into motor commands.
Pattern recognition
Software learns the user's own muscle patterns for each grip, so they think of a grip instead of using switching codes.
Hands, knees and orthoses
Builds motorised hands (Michelangelo, bebionic), microprocessor knees (C-Leg) and braces, sold to clinics worldwide.
Owns fitting clinics
Around 400 clinics fit and train users, which matters because a prosthesis only works if well fitted and practised.
