The brief
- First vertically integrated US solar factory in Cartersville, GA. Cell production began June 2026; 3.3 GW annual capacity.
- Combined with Dalton facility: 8.6 GW modules/year, powering 1.3 million homes; 4,000 US jobs by end-2026.
- Subsidiary of Hanwha Group (South Korea), part of conglomerate's renewable energy division.
Technical approach
Ingot to module under one roof
Cartersville factory produces silicon ingots, wafers, cells and modules in-house. This control shortens supply chain and tailors performance.
US ingot, wafer and cell production
Making all upstream components domestically reduces Asian supply-chain dependence and tariff exposure.
3.3 GW cells plus 5.1 GW modules
Cartersville cells match Dalton module line. Combined output: 8.6 GW modules annually.
