SMRT cells read individual DNA

DNA is immobilized in nanoscale wells where polymerase reads the sequence in real time, generating long continuous reads.

Consensus accuracy

Multiple passes reach 99.9% accuracy

Circular templates allow polymerase to traverse the same molecule repeatedly; consensus across passes achieves HiFi accuracy.

Applications

Resolve structural variation

Long reads reveal structural variants, repeats, and copy number variations that short reads miss, enabling complete assemblies.
