XiaomiXiaomi Hyper Die-Casting T9100
At the SU7's technology launch, Xiaomi showed its in-house T9100 die-casting cell and an aluminium alloy it developed itself. Together they turn the car's rear underbody into a single casting, removing dozens of stamped parts and hundreds of welds.
- The rear underbody goes from 72 parts to one.
- 840 weld points are removed and production hours fall by 45%.
- The cast part is 17% lighter, per Xiaomi.
- Xiaomi says it is the only Chinese carmaker that develops both the casting machines and the alloy itself.
