Xiaomi launches Titan Alloy 2.0, a 100% recycled aluminium for its cast rear floors

Xiaomi put a second version of its die-casting alloy, made entirely from recycled aluminium, into series production for the one-piece rear floors of the SU7 and YU7. An independent Swedish institute put its carbon footprint 93% below that of newly smelted aluminium.

• Carbon footprint: 1.1 kg CO2e per kg of alloy, verified by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute.
• Xiaomi estimates about 800 kg less CO2 per vehicle.
• Casting integrity was reviewed by a China Machinery Industry Federation committee.
• Process: scrap preprocessing, smelting, composition correction, then gigacasting with X-ray checks.
