US awards TSMC up to $6.6B in CHIPS Act grants for Arizona
The US Commerce Department proposed up to $6.6 billion in CHIPS Act grants and up to $5 billion in loans for TSMC Arizona, which committed to a third Phoenix fab and lifted its investment to over $65 billion. Fab 1 (4 nm) starts 2025, Fab 2 (3 nm and 2 nm) in 2028, and Fab 3 (2 nm or better) by 2030.
