US adds YMTC to the Entity List, cutting off American chipmaking tools and parts

The US Commerce Department added YMTC and more than 20 other Chinese chip firms to its Entity List, blocking purchases of chips and production tools made with US technology without a licence. The move extended October 2022 export controls and has shaped YMTC's equipment choices since.
