TVEL begins pilot operation of uranium-plutonium nitride fuel fabrication facility for BREST-OD-300

TVEL, Rosatom's fuel subsidiary, began pilot-scale production of uranium-plutonium nitride fuel at its facility in Seversk, demonstrating the fuel fabrication process that will support the BREST-OD-300 reactor.

• Facility demonstrates production of mixed uranium-plutonium nitride (MNUP) fuel for the first time at scale.
• Already produced prototype fuel assemblies with depleted uranium nitride fuel pellets.
• On-site fuel fabrication is essential to the Proryv closed-cycle demonstration.
