Starknet's STRK token launches with an airdrop

The Starknet Foundation began letting nearly 1.3 million addresses claim over 700M STRK tokens, drawn from 900M set aside for the airdrop. Recipients included Starknet and StarkEx users, developers, Ethereum core contributors and stakers, and contributors to top open-source projects. STRK is used for fees, governance, and future staking.

• 700M+ STRK to 1.3M addresses in first airdrop round; 900M total earmarked for the program.
• Eligible groups: Starknet early users (5+ transactions, 3+ months, $100+ volume), developers, Ethereum supporters (Protocol Guild, core devs, EIPs), top open-source contributors.
• Exclusions: U.S. Persons and residents of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria.
• Token uses: network fees, governance voting, future staking rewards; claiming ended 20 June 2024.
