Standard NuclearHALEU TRISO fuel production
Standard Nuclear began making HALEU TRISO fuel at its Oak Ridge plant after receiving its first HALEU from DOE's Savannah River Site, for Radiant's Kaleidos microreactor under DOE's Reactor Pilot Program. It also raised $140 million led by Decisive Point to grow its 500 kg-a-year line past 2 tonnes. It calls itself the first private US commercial plant to make HALEU TRISO fuel under DOE oversight.
- First HALEU feedstock delivered in January 2026 from Savannah River.
- Current capacity about 500 kg a year; target over 2 t a year by mid-2026.
- Series A led by Decisive Point with Chevron Technology Ventures, StepStone, XTX Ventures and a16z.
- The line ran on natural and depleted uranium for about a year before HALEU.
