SpaceX commits $16.8B to a first Terafab phase in Grimes County, Texas, with 3,000 jobs

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the first $16.8B phase of Terafab in Grimes County, about 40 miles northwest of Houston. The site is to combine logic, memory and advanced packaging under one roof, making both AI chips and chips built for space.

• About 100 million sq ft of manufacturing space planned.
• 3,000 jobs, backed by a $30M Texas Enterprise Fund grant, state JETI tax incentives and local school district agreements.
• The project entity is TeraFab AI, LLC.
