Intel joins Terafab as manufacturing partner for Tesla, SpaceX and xAI

Intel said it will help design, fabricate and package chips for Terafab, backing its aim of 1 TW a year of compute. The deal means the heavy lifting of chipmaking falls to an experienced foundry rather than to Tesla building its own process from zero.

• Intel cited its ability to design, make and package very high-performance chips at scale.
• Intel's 18A process is already in volume production.
• Tesla also holds a $16.5B AI6 supply deal with Samsung and uses TSMC for AI5.
