Sikorsky Introduces Nomad 100 Fast Pack, a Containerized VTOL UAS Kit for Austere Sites

Lockheed Martin

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, introduced the Nomad 100 Fast Pack, a containerized kit for fielding vertical-takeoff drones where there is no airstrip. The kit fits in one 20-foot shipping container and is aimed at surveillance, light attack and contested logistics. The Nomad 100 was developed with DARPA funding.

  • One 20-foot ISO container holds four Nomad 100 aircraft, mission-command software, power, communications and sustainment gear.
  • In its planned setup, two aircraft are mission-ready within 15 minutes and two more within four to six hours.
  • It can launch from naval vessels, vehicle staging areas or improvised landing zones, and the container can be repacked and moved after a mission.
  • The release gives no payload, range, endurance, price or delivery schedule.
