FY27 budget seeks $296M for an ARRW Increment 2 and about $50M to start an air-launched ballistic missile

Lockheed MartinAGM-183 ARRW

The Air Force asked for $346M in FY27 hypersonic prototyping: $296M for ARRW Increment 2 and about $50M to start an air-launched ballistic missile. A further roughly $452M was requested to keep buying the baseline ARRW. Future ARRW increments are to be competed, opening them to vendors other than Lockheed Martin.

  • Increment 2 is meant to keep the weapon effective against dense air defences; the next round of increments is to be competed.
  • Baseline ARRW procurement request: about $452M in FY27, quantity not disclosed.
  • HACM, the Air Force's other hypersonic missile, gets $404M to start procurement.
