Philippines approves Tropic's CRISPR-edited non-browning banana

The Philippines granted Certificates of Non-Coverage for Tropic's gene-edited bananas (TRB011001 and TRB011002), which have the polyphenol oxidase gene disabled to prevent browning after cutting. This was the first regulatory approval of a gene-edited fruit crop in a major producing region.
