Oak Ridge opens call for the first science applications to run on Discovery

Oak Ridge's computing facility opened its application-readiness programme for Discovery, inviting AI, simulation and data-heavy projects to port their codes early. Selected teams get early access, training and help from AMD and HPE engineers, plus time on Frontier and early hardware.

• Applications were open from January 12 to March 16, 2026.
• Projects had to show a path to at least a 5x speed-up over Frontier and a concrete challenge problem.
• Accepted teams get hackathons, OLCF staff support and allocations on Frontier and early hardware.
