Ilya Sutskever's Safe Superintelligence and NVIDIA announced a long-term partnership: NVIDIA invests in SSI and gives it access to its next-generation Vera Rubin platform, which the companies say will raise SSI's compute by an order of magnitude. The amount was not disclosed; Bloomberg reported about $5 billion. It is the first sign that SSI is moving from small-scale research to large training runs.
- Sutskever: "We have research that is worthy of scaling up, and having access to a big NVIDIA computer will let us do so"
- The two will also work together on NVIDIA's current and future compute platforms
- SSI, founded in 2024 and led by Sutskever and Daniel Levy, had previously raised $7 billion at a $32 billion valuation
- SSI has released no product and has not said what its research approach is
