NewLimit finds 3 more gene-switch sets that restore youthful liver function; prototype makes old mouse livers nearly as resilient as young to alcohol injury
NewLimitHepatocyte epigenetic reprogramming
NewLimit identified three more transcription factor sets with efficacy in animal models of liver disease and demonstrated that a prototype mRNA medicine based on two novel TF sets restored alcohol injury resilience in aged hepatocytes to near youthful levels. The treatment enhanced hepatocyte survival following ethanol injury, measured by blood biomarkers of hepatocyte death.
- Three new TF sets show efficacy in liver disease models; two of these form basis of prototype mRNA medicine.
- Prototype restored resilience to alcohol injury in old livers to near youthful levels—first time partial reprogramming medicine treated alcohol-related liver disease model.
- Hepatocyte survival measured by blood biomarkers of death; treated old cells withstood injury similarly to younger tissue.
