NASA and SpaceX move the Crew-13 launch date after an oxidizer leak is found in Dragon's propulsion system
NASA and SpaceX postponed the Crew-13 flight to the International Space Station after finding an oxidizer leak in the Crew Dragon's propulsion system during routine prelaunch processing. No new date has been set: teams will run more tests, review the data and rework the spacecraft first.
- The oxidizer is one half of the propellant pair that feeds Dragon's thrusters, used for maneuvering and the launch-abort system.
- Crew: NASA's Jessica Watkins (commander) and Luke Delaney (pilot), CSA's Joshua Kutryk and Roscosmos's Sergey Teteryatnikov.
- The mission flies on Falcon 9 from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral to join Expedition 75.
- The crew enters quarantine about two weeks before whatever new launch date NASA announces.
