Muse releases Deep Sleep Boost, sound pulses timed to the brain's slow waves, free on Muse S Athena
Muse released Deep Sleep Boost, which detects deep sleep from EEG and plays nearly silent pink-noise pulses in step with the brain's slow oscillations. In beta users the company reported longer and more organized trains of slow waves. The feature is included with every Muse S Athena at no extra cost.
- Beta users: about 24% longer slow-wave trains and 42% more trains per minute.
- About 76% more slow waves organized into trains.
- Available on iOS and Android at no extra cost.
- Co-founder Chris Aimone framed sleep quality, not just falling asleep, as the target.
