MetaMask Card becomes generally available in 49 US states
After pilots in 2024 and 2025, ConsenSys made the MetaMask Card available across the US except Vermont, including New York for the first time. Funds stay in the user's wallet until the moment of payment, unlike crypto cards that need a pre-loaded exchange account.
- Issued by Cross River Bank with Monavate (formerly Baanx) as the regulated program partner.
- Accepted at 150M Mastercard merchants; works with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Free virtual card; metal card at $199 a year with 3% cashback on the first $10,000.
- Also available in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the EEA, Mexico, Switzerland and the UK.
