Meta launches Muse Spark, its first Meta Superintelligence Labs model

MetaMuse models

Meta released Muse Spark, the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs, as a closed multimodal reasoning system with tool use and multi-agent 'Contemplating' mode. The model scored 58% on Humanity's Last Exam and 38% on FrontierScience Research, requiring over ten times less compute than Llama 4 Maverick. It launched in the Meta AI app with private API preview.

  • Multimodal reasoning model with strong performance on visual STEM questions, entity recognition and localisation tasks
  • Trained with over 1,000 physicians for factual health information and interactive nutritional displays
  • Demonstrates 'Contemplating' mode enabling parallel reasoning agents achieving competitive results with other advanced models
  • Over ten times more compute-efficient than Llama 4 Maverick; shows predictable scaling across pre-training, reinforcement learning and test-time reasoning
