Kodiak says its highway safety case is 93% complete, on track for a year-end driverless launch
Kodiak said its Autonomy Readiness Measure, the share of claims and evidence in its safety case for driverless highway trucking that is materially complete, reached 93% at the end of August. The remaining work is final engineering verification and validation, and Kodiak says it remains on track to launch driverless long-haul service by year-end 2026.
- Progress: 84% in February, 86% in April, 91% in July, 93% in August 2026.
- A safety case is the structured argument, backed by test evidence, that a system is safe enough to run without a human aboard.
- Kodiak already runs 35 driverless trucks for Atlas Energy Solutions in the Permian Basin oil field, and builds the highway case on that one.
- The percentage is Kodiak's own metric; it is not reviewed by a regulator.
