Kodiak AIKodiak Driver

Kodiak picked the 219-mile Interstate 45 corridor between Dallas–Fort Worth and Houston for its first driverless long-haul service, planned for the end of 2026 once its safety case is complete. Since August its trucks have run daily from its Lancaster, Texas hub to Houston, completing deliveries end to end without human intervention, with a safety driver still aboard.

  • Kodiak has driven over 3.5 million autonomous miles on the Dallas–Houston route since 2019, with safety drivers.
  • Its safety-case completeness measure stood at 93%; it targets 100% by year-end before going driverless.
  • In the Permian Basin it has run driverless commercially since December 2024, with 35 trucks and over 40,000 paid driverless hours by 30 June 2026.
  • Customers include Atlas Energy Solutions, IKEA, Bridgestone, Werner, C.R. England and Roehl Transport.
