John Deere reveals second-gen autonomy kit and autonomous 9RX and 5ML tractors at CES

John Deere/Autonomy kits (8R, 9RX, 5ML)

At CES 2025 Deere unveiled its second-generation autonomy kit on four machines: a 9RX tractor with 16 cameras for 360-degree vision, a 5ML orchard tractor adding lidar for dense canopies, a 460 P-Tier articulated dump truck for quarry operations, and a battery-electric mower. All use the Operations Center Mobile cloud platform for remote management.

• 9RX: 16 pod-mounted cameras for 360-degree vision and enhanced depth calculation; enables hands-free tilling
• 5ML orchard tractor: second-gen autonomy kit plus lidar sensors for dense canopy navigation; diesel initially with battery-electric version planned
• 460 P-Tier dump truck and autonomous electric mower both use second-generation autonomy kit
• All machines can be factory-fitted or retrofitted; managed via Operations Center Mobile cloud platform
