Japan approves Toyota solid-state battery production plans, partnering with Idemitsu and Sumitomo

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry approved Toyota's all-solid-state battery production plans, clearing the way for commercialization in 2027–2028. Toyota is collaborating with Idemitsu Kosan for electrolyte production and Sumitomo Metal Mining for cathode materials.
