After a seismic event in May 2025 suspended mining at Kakula, Ivanhoe cut its 2025 forecast to 370,000-420,000 tonnes of copper from 520,000-580,000 tonnes and withdrew its 2026 target of about 600,000 tonnes. Mining had resumed on the western side; the eastern side, which flooded, needed dewatering. Concentrators 1 and 2 were running at about half capacity on stockpiles.
- 2025 guidance: 370,000-420,000 t, down from 520,000-580,000 t.
- 2024 production was 437,061 t.
- Phase 3 concentrator and the Kamoa mine kept operating normally.
