ISRO shows a full-size model of the BAS-01 station module on National Space Day

ISRO/Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS)

ISRO displayed a 1:1 model of BAS-01, the first module of India's planned space station, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The module is planned at about 10 tonnes for a 450 km orbit, with launch targeted for 2028 and five modules by 2035.

• Model measures 3.8 m by 8 m.
• Indian-built life support, docking and berthing mechanisms and automated hatches.
• Also includes viewports, airlocks and shielding against radiation and debris.
