Intel names Lip-Bu Tan as CEO

Intel's board appointed Lip-Bu Tan, former CEO of Cadence Design Systems and a veteran chip investor, as CEO effective March 18, 2025, succeeding interim co-CEOs. Tan also rejoined the board.

• Lip-Bu Tan: ex-CEO of Cadence Design Systems (2009–2021), grew company 2x+ in revenue and 32x in stock price.
• Background: degrees in physics (NTU), nuclear engineering (MIT) and MBA (USF); chair of Walden International; received SIA's Robert N. Noyce Award.
• Effective: March 18, 2025; rejoined Intel board as part of appointment.
