Hyundai Metaplant Georgia begins production less than two years after groundbreaking
Hyundai Motor GroupE-GMP Platform (Ioniq, Kia EV)
Hyundai Motor Group's Metaplant Georgia, a dedicated EV factory in Bryan, Georgia, began producing customer vehicles in October 2024, ahead of schedule. The facility builds E-GMP vehicles for the North American market with an initial annual capacity of 300,000 units, scaling toward 500,000.
- First Hyundai-dedicated EV-only factory in the US.
- Started production 18 months after October 2022 groundbreaking.
- Currently produces Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9; Kia models coming 2026.
