HyperEVM goes live on Hyperliquid mainnet

The Hyper Foundation launched HyperEVM on mainnet on February 18, 2025, adding Ethereum-compatible smart contracts to Hyperliquid's layer 1, secured by HyperBFT consensus. Initial release supports HYPE transfers between native chain and HyperEVM; ERC-20 transfers and precompiles deferred to later upgrade.

• Smart contracts inherit full security from HyperBFT consensus; no additional trust assumptions.
• HYPE serves as native gas token on HyperEVM; immediate HYPE transfers between native and EVM layers.
• Raw HyperEVM block data streams in real-time to S3; eliminates need to run validator node for indexing.
• General ERC-20 and precompile support planned for future upgrade; follows community feedback.
