HIP-3 markets reach a $4.3B open-interest record

HyperliquidHyperCore exchange

Open interest on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 markets reached a record of about $4.3 billion. HIP-3 lets outside builders deploy their own perpetual futures on Hyperliquid's trading engine, including on stocks, indices and commodities, so the figure shows demand for non-crypto markets on the exchange. In the same period the Hyper Foundation opened non-validating nodes to qualified infrastructure providers.

  • Growth: HIP-3 open interest was about $790M in January 2026, about $1.43B in March and above $3.6B in July.
  • Open interest is the value of positions still open, not new money deposited, so $4.3B does not mean that much fresh capital arrived.
  • Non-validating nodes copy and serve the chain's data without voting on blocks, spreading the load of serving traders and apps.
  • Buoy Finance launched permissionless vaults on HyperEVM that can be opened with 1 USDC and trade across perps, HIP-3, spot and outcome markets.
