Heart redesigns the ES-30 around an off-the-shelf hybrid powertrain
Heart redesigned the ES-30, dropping the strut-braced wing and large battery pod under the fuselage, and switched to an off-the-shelf hybrid powertrain combining stock turboprops with electric motors instead of developing its own. This represents a shift to a more pragmatic development path.
- Eliminated strut-braced wing configuration from original design
- Removed large under-fuselage battery compartment from original design
- Hybrid powertrain combines commercial turboprop and electric motor components rather than custom propulsion
- Pragmatic approach focused on near-term certification and production rather than entirely novel systems
