Google Cloud and CME Group announced Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL), a permissioned distributed ledger for financial institutions to settle tokenized assets and payments. CME planned to run technical trials with market participants in 2025, targeting commercial launch of tokenized cash products in 2026.
