Air Force revives ARRW and asks $387.1M in FY26 to buy its first hypersonic missiles

The Air Force's FY26 budget moved ARRW from its troubled test phase into procurement, requesting $387.1M after the service had nearly cancelled it when prototyping ended in August 2024. About $1.4B had already been spent on development. Quantities were not disclosed.

  • FY25 had requested no procurement money for ARRW.
  • At least one full-up flight test failed in 2023.
  • It is launched from the B-52 bomber.
