Energy Fuels announced the start of Phase 1 circuit modifications at White Mesa Mill in July 2026, targeting commercial-scale production of dysprosium and terbium oxides by late 2027 to early 2028 (35 tonnes/year dysprosium, 12 tonnes/year terbium), followed by samarium, europium, and gadolinium circuits by end of 2028. Phase 2 is targeted for commissioning by late 2028 to early 2029, reaching roughly 6,300 tonnes/year neodymium-praseodymium, 80 tonnes/year terbium, and 288 tonnes/year dysprosium. The expansions are supported by the US government's critical minerals strategy.
