DeepMind and EMBL-EBI launch the AlphaFold database, starting with the human proteome
A companion Nature paper applied AlphaFold to the human proteome, producing full-chain structure predictions for 98.5% of human proteins, where experiments had covered only about a third. The predictions were made freely available through a database hosted by EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute.
- Predicted structures for 98.5% of human proteins; experiments had covered only ~33%.
- 58% of residues have confident prediction; 36% have very high confidence.
- 43.8% of proteins have confident prediction for at least three-quarters of their sequence.
- Database freely accessible at alphafold.ebi.ac.uk; integrated into major public datasets.
