Coinbase joins the S&P 500

S&P Dow Jones Indices announced on May 12 that Coinbase Global would replace Discover Financial Services in the S&P 500 effective May 19, 2025, following Capital One's acquisition of Discover. Coinbase became the first crypto-focused company in the index.

• Replacement announced May 12; effective prior to trading open May 19, 2025.
• Both companies classified in Financials sector; index addition reflects Coinbase's scale and market acceptance.
• Inclusion in the S&P 500 makes Coinbase part of one of the world's most widely tracked equity indices.
