BETA flies the first ALIA built at its Vermont factory
BETA flew the first production-representative ALIA CX300 (registration N916LF) from its Vermont factory, marking the shift from hand-built prototypes to factory production of electric aircraft. The CX300 shares airframe, batteries and motors with BETA's eVTOL model and is being developed for certification under FAA Part 23.
- Aircraft N916LF completed over 22,000 miles of prior test flights, including a nonstop 386-mile journey
- CX300 is a conventional-takeoff electric aircraft designed for short-haul cargo, medical, defence and passenger use
- BETA targeting 2025 for certification and first deliveries to United Therapeutics, Air New Zealand, and Bristow
- Manufacturing facility in South Burlington, Vermont expected operational by summer 2023
