Army says first MV-75 will be delivered for testing by end-2026 as it speeds up fielding
Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George said the MV-75, once due around 2031-2032, is needed much sooner. The Army expects to accept a first aircraft for testing in late 2026 or early 2027, aims for first flight in fiscal 2027 and wants to begin fielding in 2028. Halted Gray Eagle drone buys and retired Apaches help pay for it.
- Programme estimated at about $70B.
- First aircraft accepted for testing late 2026 or early 2027, not operational.
- First prototype flight targeted for fiscal 2027; fielding goal 2028.
- Funded partly by ending Gray Eagle purchases and shelving AH-64D Apaches.
