ANKA-3 stealth flying-wing drone makes its first flight, staying up 70 minutes

Turkish Aerospace's tailless, jet-powered ANKA-3 drone flew for the first time on 28 December 2023, staying airborne for 70 minutes. It is meant for reconnaissance and for air-to-ground and air-to-air attack, with a low radar signature.

• First flight reached about 8,000 ft and 150 knots.
• Announced targets: cruise speed up to Mach 0.7, 10-hour endurance, 40,000 ft ceiling.
• Flying-wing shape chosen to cut its radar echo.
